Working

Today my grandma was asking Aiden, “Where does Brandon work?  Where does your daddy work?” and Aiden replied, “On the computer.”  LOL.  While laughing, I said to my dad and grandma, “That is more true then anyone could have said.”  Kids are so perceptive.  Maybe they understand the universe better then we do.  Too bad they can’t explain it to us…

A Bit of Nonsense

So yesterday Aiden was being stubborn about having a messy diaper that needed to be changed so to infuse some humor into the situation I asked him, “Do you want a diaper change or a swirly?”  He grinned and said, “I need a swirly.”  LOL.

A Nose is a Nose Like a Rose is a Rose…

So tonight while Brandon was changing Aiden’s diaper Aiden declared, “Daddy has hairy nose?!”  To which Brandon replied, “Thank you for noticing.”  LOL!  I love my boys.

A Tribute

One of my dad’s very best friends passed away last week.  I haven’t mentioned or said anything until now and I am not even really sure as to why.  I have known this man since I was Aiden’s age and maybe even younger.  I wowed him with my smarts at Aiden’s age because I could sing the entirety of the alphabet song and he thought I was a young genius.  My sister and I used to play with his kids while he and my dad hung out.  I even remember him making noodles and potstickers from scratch.  He was a man who was full of life and friendly to everyone he’d meet.  My dad said that he was the favorite teacher of many, many students over the years who I have no doubt will want to make a tribute to him as well.  Thanks Mark for being such a good friend to my dad and for spending a little time getting to know his two precocious daughters.  Enjoy Heaven and when you have a moment or two once in awhile please keep my dad out of trouble (oh and shake up his life a little sometimes too).  :p

Look What’s Cookin’

So today I had thrown the little bear sponge that we will use to bathe Lucas into the tub.  While Aiden was using the potty he said, “That baby Lucas bed.”  I informed him that it is what we were going to use to bathe baby Lucas and that when he was tiny we used it to bathe him.  He then told me, “Get the baby Lucas all wet.”  I told him that we couldn’t because baby Lucas was still in my tummy and had a few more weeks to go.  To which Aiden replied, “Baby Lucas is still cooking.”  LOL.  It amazes me what kids pick up on.

Prayer & Grandpa

So this morning as I led Aiden through the breakfast prayer I told him to say, “Please bless grandpa.” Knowing both are in need of blessings I didn’t specify which and moved from there to please bless our food, but before Aiden would say that he added uncoached, “Thank you for our grandpa.”  What a sweet boy.

Have a Seat…

This morning while Aiden took a bath I was sticking putty tack on the back of some photos.  I turned my head for just a moment and next thing I know I hear him saying, “need the potty” and he has his potty seat (just the part you fit onto the big toilet) in the tub with him.  Oi.  Needless to say I emptied out the tub and re-filled it before he resumed his bath.

Imagination

Aiden has a pair of pajamas that features a monkey playing the guitar.  The other day he was touching the guitar on his shirt and making sounds.  This led Brandon to ask, “Are you playing the guitar on your shirt?”  To which Aiden said, “Yes.” with a big huge grin on his face.

Discovery

So today Aiden found a small air soft pellet on the ground outside.  He brought it over to show me and I tossed it away saying,” You don’t need that it is a choking hazard.”  To which Aiden replied, “I need a the choking hazard!”  I then explained that it was a tiny ball and that if he ate it he might choke and that is why he didn’t need it.  Silly boy!
